
The safety features built into our stove are just as important to the design as the efficiency and styling. The first safety feature that is apparent is the structural design of the stove. The louvered aluminum exterior construction allows the stove to be touched anywhere on the exterior without worry of receiving a serious burn. While the stove is set at the highest temperature setting the aluminum exterior is only slightly warm to the touch. This is a very important safety feature if there are small children or pets who might contact the stove accidentally. Another safety feature is the location of the combustion fan at the end of the exhaust pipe. Locating the exhaust fan at the end of the exhaust pipe insures that any small leaks that might be in the exhaust pipe will draw air into the pipe rather than blow exhaust containing carbon monoxide and ash particulates out of the exhaust pipe if the exhaust fan is located within the stove. Our unique pellet delivery system provides another safety feature in that Burn Back is virtually eliminated. Fuel pellets and air are delivered to the burn chamber vertically within the same tube. This simple design feature insures there is no direct path for fire to follow the fuel pellets from the burn chamber into the hopper. Added safety against burn back is achieved because the air supply is supplied within the same tube shutting off the air supply if the tube were to become clogged with which automatically shuts the stove off. Carbon Monoxide can enter living areas from leaks between door seals and glass seals on stoves with large doors. Because the SNQ-1 has no door the chance of carbon monoxide leakng into the living space is greatly reduced. Another great feature of the SNQ-1 is the design of the air/ fuel delivery valve. This unique valve is opened on startup and automatically closes if electrical power is lost to the stove, or the stove overheats. If power is interupted while the stove is burning the air/fuel valve closes locking and extinguishing burning pellets within the combustion capsule insuring that no smoke will exit into the living area. |
